As the great saying goes, "there's nothing new under the sun." This classic adage is especially true in regards to the “something blue” in wedding tradition but Matthew Christopher has made this old favorite, new again. Combining his curve hugging aesthetic with vintage cuts of the 1960's and cool hues of blue proved to be a hit with design critics. Known as one of the few designers that address body diversity among brides, this collection is in the designer's own words "modern elegance with a classic feminine twist."

Other touches of 60's style were spotted throughout the show in hair and make-up. The bouffant, a soft up-do of pinned back curls featured with wing-lined eyes, and coral tinted lips channeled the elegance of 60's style icons Audrey Hepburn and Grace Kelly.

With the vintage trend taking prominence this season, brides have an element of flexibility in regards to comfort and style. A noted feature, the shorter cut waltz length gowns provide comfort and style to brides that aren't looking for the drama of floor sweeping trains.
