No wedding reception is ever complete without the SWEETS! Though in traditional wedding receptions , you always find tiers upon tiers of white cake, why not change things up and suprise your guests with something different. Here are five (5) alternatives to the traditional wedding cake.

1) Cupcake bar-

Cupcakes are a great alternative to the wedding cake. They still have the delectable taste like a cake, but they are much easier for guests of all ages to handle. You won't need a knife  nor your great aunt Bertha hovering over the cake the entire time making sure that no one knocks it over.  Also, there are tons of cupcake flavors and fillings to choose from, so you can have something that pleases all of your guests versus just white cake , in which everyone does not like. As far as presention, the cupcakes can be presented in tower form or in a pull apart cake form, whichever you prefer, we can assure you that it will be a HIT amongst guests!

2) Candy bar-

Nothing says sweet tooth like a candy bar! Place about 10-15 bowls of different candies on a table and have your guests make their own bags full of candy. From Snickers and Reese's to Skittles and Sour Patch Kids, your guests will be in true CANDYLAND! To keep things organized and as sanitary as possible, place cards in front of each bowl informing the guests of what candy it is, and also provide scoopers so that no one is dipping their germy little hands into the candy bowl!

3) Cookie buffet-

Cookies, we all love them. You can never go wrong with a cookie buffet. Spread out about 5-10 various flavors of cookies , including the American favorites; chocolate chip, macadamia nut, peanut butter, and oatmeal raisin and your guests will be satisfied!

4) Ice cream bar- If you plan on having a summer wedding, then the ice cream bar is the PERFECT alternative to the traditional cake. There's no better way to cool off than with a nice ice cream bar for guests. Not only are the types and flavors limitless, but so are the toppings! Whether you choose to go the traditional ice cream route, frozen yogurt way, or gelato path , your guests will surely be pleased that you thought of them on your hot day.  Provide some cups, spoons, and tons of toppings and let your guests go for it!
